I have been trying to get any recent version of WordPerfect Office to run in CrossOver Mac.

I've given up on the most recent WPO versions, as they require a newer version of Internet Explorer than CrossOver will support. CodeWeavers advised me that "The latest version that will run in CrossOver is IE 7 and even that has issues with how it runs."

My focus is on trying to get WPO X3 to install, as in the above two forum threads.

First I installed IE7 into a WinXP bottle. At the first-above link, Germike is firm that it must be IE7. The IE7 installation completed, as reported by both IE7 and CrossOver.

Then I installed WPO X3 into a WinXP bottle. The WPO X3 installer reported completion, but CrossOver's Software Installer window hung. It finished these --
Preparing the system for this application
Creating the WPO X3 bottle
but this --
Installing Other Applcation
showed a full-gray progress bar, reporting "In Process..." while this --
Installing Unlisted application "WPO X3"...
showed a half-gray, half-white progress bar and stayed that way indefinitely. The only icon in the WPO X3 bottle is Run Command.

It looks like my WPO X3 installation is close to the "Gold" reported by Germike at the first-above link. Any suggestions as to how to get it to go all the way would be most welcome!

My version of CrossOver is the latest -- much newer than the version 9.2.0 used by Germike. Could that be the problem?

Re my post that started this thread, I had worked most of my night trying to get WPO X3 to install, but with a hung CrossOver Software Installer the frustration level was high. "So near, yet so far!" More out of fatigue than inspiration, I gave up and simply clicked "Cancel" on the CrossOver Software Installer -- thinking that at least the process would close. But to my amazement, the WPO X3 installation then completed immediately!

My preliminary assessment is that the WPO X3 installation is very functional.

I hope to get more time on this later today. If the WPO X3 installation is as good as it presently looks, I'll post again to close this thread.
