i ran everything fine thru the install of crossover and everything but when i load the game i get the hud chat and everything but the background and everything else is a black screen. kinda lost and at least want to try to play the game

Can you post a picture of what you mean?
YEAH! my friend is having this problem too. you can see like the back pack and quest menus and even the hp and mp jars. but the WORLD is all black... is this because she doesn't have mac mountain lion or snow leopard or is this something she can fix with like video or resolution settings
