Working well in linux with COG 7.2.2 - (Opengl mode)

Download the latest winUAE version (at the time of this posting,
the current version is 1.6.1), and install it as an unsupported
game into it's own bottle using the winXP profile. The install
should complete cleanly. You need to change the default settings,
so start winUAE and you'll be presented with the control/launch
GUI (look at the screenshots section).

Go to the Host->Filters item, and set things to use Opengl (unsupported)
Go to the Host->Display item, and set winUAE to run in windowed mode.

With this setup, running in A500/wb_1.3 guise, I was getting a
constant 50 fps in 800x600 windowed mode across the amiga titles
I checked (Sounds of the Gnome, Stunt Car Racer, Frontier 1.05).
I also checked it with my clean workbench 3.1 hardfile image in
A1200/68030 guise, and it was getting the same 50 fps.

It's a bit hard to properly rank without a bit more testing, throw
some AGA games and demos at it and such - if it can keep churning
out 50 fps through some of the stuff I'll throw at it, that will be
good as gold :: right now, a bronze until I test some more. More
like a copper ;)

Hey Don, is that your screenshot? How do you get Winuae windowed and that cool window gui? (if you compare to that with my screenshot of the start/main window)

yes i know, how do you get that window interface, i mean, with that nice winuae logo in it.if you compare it with my screensot (mac) its a ugly windows version. An besides, how do you get the program windowed? I can only get it full screen.

On the first bit, I think you're confused...'that window interface' with that
nice Amiga (not winuae) logo in the top-lefthand corner, is part of my window manager
decore, not anything to do with winuae. The other linux screenshots show the KDE
window manager decore...and that 'ugly windows version' that you say you're looking
at, is actually your Mac's window manager's idea of how to do things ; it's not
anything to do with windows....

Doing the windowed mode is as I say above [with 'emulate a virtual desktop' OFF in
winecfg] - go to the winuae Host->Display panel, and change it from fullscreen to
windowed...it's fairly obvious...

Oh ok, its you window manager decore. Because you used virtual desktop your windowmanager is used. When not using a virtual desktop, you get that original crap screen of windows (not my mac window manager, that one is grey)
And ow, yes its obvious..lol...always used winuae without virtual desktop, and came back to me short after i submitted the reply though. So i figured that already out ;)
