Hi Folks,
I tried to install mpsetup.exe from the microsoft site and it dies at the "looking for updates" phase (early on) says "unable to locate updates - try again later." Any ideas how I get around this? I should note I already have WMP6 installed.

Couple of tips for those who come after me. First, its important to install wmp6 first and then install wmp9 into the same bottle. I was unable to see the accept eula button, Alt-A accepted it for me any. Ran wmpplayer.exe once set finished unsuccesfully, and then did ctrl-n to get past setup screens until ctrl-f at the end and voila I had it working.
This is a problem to do with it not being able to find (or use?) the XML processor which is in one of the MSXML(?).DLLs. There is a workaround using OVERRIDEDLL if you look in the Wine forums.
Alternatively just install it using IE6 (see my other post) and it just works.
