Windows Media Player 9 series

Indeed some of us really need Windows Media Player!

I have recently begun buying music online, meaning downloadable music. Unfortunately iTunes is not available in my country and the alternative, the online music-stores, provides most of their music in WMA. Even xmms has a plug-in for this, but it only works on unprotected files - the music-files you buy are always protected by DRM, which xmms is not able to do anything about.

But yes, I'd rather like some WMP-plugin with DRM-support, but I don't think Microsoft will give a hand, and if they don't, then there's no other choice but to run the protected files through WMP...
