Because of the dreaded DRM

I've purchased some tutorial videos only to later discover they were blocked with DRM. That is you have to submit a password to unblock it.

Sure I could complain and get a refund from the videos - but really needed them.

So there you go - one reason Why Windows Media Player could come to the rescue.

Otherwise I only use Mplayer/Xine.
