Crossover 19 and Catalina: WTLib often crashes while searching or opening the Bible, or other publications

Hi! After the update MacOS X Catalina 10.15.2 and Crossover 19.0.0.32195, it started to crash in different scenarios.

For example, I try to find something missing, let say "wwww"
Also, it crashes when I try to open some Bible texts. For example, Bibles > Bible Navigation -> 1Pe -> Under Chapter 1 click on 24
Also, go to Books -> "Sing Out Joyfully"(sjj) - > 67 "Preach the Word" -> Right-click on the notes, choose Presentations, Text

In all these cases I have the error: "Watchtower Library has experienced a problem and cannot continue."
The same situation with the Watchtower Library in other languages, not only English.

The log-file with error after searching "wwww" is here

Same here. But I didn't found a solution yet.

Same here.

It is a known issue with macOS Catalina.

For the time being - avoid upgrading your macOS to Catalina or use Timemachine to revert to Mojave.

What I have noticed is that it seems to happen when you access pages of publications that have audio. For example: It will crash on an page you access that has the link to pronounce a name like Aaron, but if you access a page that does not have a pronunciation button it will not crash. Maybe something to do with audio playback links within the library?

I agree. It seems to be a problem with sapi.dll (MS speech). I've tried several ways to install / integrade it. It's not working. Maybe the devs of Crossover have an idea to realise it. This problem correlates with the error message "class {96749377-3391-11d2-9ee3-00c04f797396} not registered". This seems to be a wine related issue. Maybe this helps to solve it.

any news about the progress?
I would like to know, I will buy this software if wtlibs runs in catalina. Although I am using parallels it would be useful for me running WTlib in catalina.

thanks a lot.

Same here, but the error message pops up and then I have to close it only when I type a scripture and then a number into the search field.

I can search the word "Genesis" but if I search for "Genesis 1" or "Genesis:1" or "Gen 1" it dumps the program.

I hope this is fixed soon! Hard to do research the way I like to.

Crossover 19.0.1 was doing the same thing with my iMac running Catalina 10.15.2. The WT Library (latest) version would quit unexpectedly when hovering over links such as the Insight book (it-1 or it-2), but only occasionally. Some Insight links Crossover worked for, others, not. Researching with the WT Library proved difficult.

My only recourse was deleting the WT Library and Crossover from my iMac and relying solely on the jw.org website under the Library tab > Online Library. For the time until the WT Society maintains the Online Library on their website, it is a workaround that requires slightly more work (correcting font, size, and color), but without the typical WT Library crashes one experiences with Crossover.

Until Crossover can correct the errant links, videos, or search errors, the Crossover program only works well for limited use with the WT Library.

Sir @ Jorge Rey Azabal can you send me the link where i can learn how to run parallels? like an internet link or you tube video tutorial. Thanks!

Looks like WTLIb is working again!!! I just upgraded to CrossOver 20.0 and all is working. NO crashes.

I can confirm it. Everything, including articles with special characters in the title (like ") and audio ist working fine in version 20!!! I couldn't test the internal update process yet. But I think it will work, too.
