i can get DoW installed and running but the sound repeats and skips... it sounds crazy and i have turned the sound off and otherwise only have problems when i go to restart the program (after editing options) but all i want is the sound to work...

Are you using OSS or ALSA, and what kind of soundcard?
Also, what version of windows is the system emulating? Generally for games I set it to XP because, of course, XP is the best gaming version supported in crossover.
