Black Screen - Won't Load

The game would load but the cinematic would play but not show and would not lead to the game itself
I found the solution to this being to rename the Movies folder so that the cinematic wouldn't run (i renamed to Mov_ies)

now when I change workspaces the war3.exe process remains but the window itself disappears - anyone have any clues?
