Got it Running on Linux (Steam version)!

Hello all,

It has been a while since I was a beta tester but doens't stop me from trying things.
My brother runs openSUSE 12.3 with a Nvidia 660ti card and wanted to play War Thunder.

So we download the normal installer and installed without luck.

After that we installed Steam with Crossover (ofcourse the Windows version of Steam)
And downloaded War Thunder.

On the Splashscreen set the video settings to min (just like in Tips & Tricks).
And the game will run great 30 -60 fps.

On my own system with a AMD HD 7xxx serie is glitches so it is not playable.
But this is a mobile card (Sony Branded).
If someone could to try it on a desktop AMD card please let us know the results.

Have fun!

Regards,

Rob

Hi Rob 😊

Thank you for your post!

I'll update Linux compatibility status then.

Regarding to AMD card, I guess WINE is Nvidia optimised, so... you have what you have.

Best regards.

Thanks you for updating the Linux status.

And AMD... well yeah... not the best choice for linux gaming. ;)
