If you don't know this software, please see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vocaloid
It can properly import and open files, export voice into wave file, and even adjusting the parameters can be achieved. Personally I will give it a silver medal. XD CrossOver is really amazing! It has enabled Mac run Vocaloid 2 almost perfectly.
I've just noticed Vocaloid (the first version) has already been marked as Bronze Medal, as far as I have tested Vocalolid 2, I have found it works pretty well on CrossOver 8. Previously, some people have already tested Vocaloid 2 with CrossOver 6, the result was good. I have tested it again but I have found some small places need to be noticed.
- Uni-code
I have noticed CrossOver cannot display correct characters if the software is not in English. As far as I tested Vocaloid 2 the Japanese version, it display boxes but not Japanese. Besides, I have used other software in non-English, the characters cannot be displayed properly as well. I suggest if CrossOver will be integrated with uni-codes, users can select correct uni-code for each bottle, that will avoid displaying incorrect characters.
- Drag to open
When I use this software, I cannot simply drag Vocaloid 2's VSQ file into the interface to open it. This cannot be achieved by other software like WinRAR or 7-zip either. I guess it is hard to be achieved, and I hope the official has already noticed this.
- Low performance
I have compared running Vocaloid 2 both on Vmware Fusion and CrossOver, and I have found it runs slower on CrossOver. It takes longer to playback and it reacts slower when I scrolled mouse wheel. It has already been amazing to see Vocaloid 2 can relatively perfectly run on Mac, so I am not caring much about its speed, but sometimes it is really annoying to wait.
These points are not about Vocaloid 2 editor, but also common issues on other software. I hope CodeWeaver can enhance CrossOver, makes it more universal and faster. :)
