I have attempted to follow the tip / trick given, but there is no winecfg command so there is no way to add the correct dll file.

Any other suggestions?

Yes, there is a winecfg command...we just don't access it like that.
On the Mac, Crossover menu -> Configure -> Manage Bottles -> Control Panel.
Highlight the bottle in the left pane, then launch Wine Configuration ;
this will give you the winecfg GUI, aand you can proceed as per the tip&trick.

Found that but still having an issue.

fixme:font:get_nearest_charset returning DEFAULT_CHARSET face->fs.fsCsb[0] = 20000000 file = /System/Library/Fonts/STHeiti Light.ttc

Any clue on how to resolve this.

As it is I can't see any text in things like the EULA
