I installed vanguard using CrossOver(6.1.0). I did experience an error installing the direct x that is part of the vanguard installation. I was able to log in and the game patched. However, when I hit "Play" the game simply disappeared, closing on its own.
I've pretty much given up on WoW (just... too... boring) and was hoping to hear that someone had started getting this working on Crossover. I'll start trying here this week, and I'll post what I come up with.
I hear it works okay in wine, so it should work with Crossover, if not 6.1.0, then maybe 6.2?
well, it installs and patches. you have to regedit and add a couple strings to your wine config.

That takes care of getting the game up and running. I still have no clue how to fix the disappearing mouse.
How's Vanguard running gang? Looking to try this out.
I have not installed this using crossover, but I did install this using Wine .93 before I had to re-install XP for some testing work. With the changes to the registry mentioned above (and listed at the WineHQ site), I was able to get the game up and running. The only issue I had was I had to turn down tree distance to the lowest setting possible.
I'm hoping to get this Ubuntu 8.10 and CrossOver 7.1 installed this weekend.
