Vanguard: Saga of Heroes Forum

In the Tips & Tricks section, Jonas said that Vanguard is running fine for him using Crossover 10. I'm not having the same luck.

I've installed Vanguard with the old launcher, the new Station Launcher and have tried both Modern and Legacy DirectX installations.

With the old launcher, I cannot see a "Play" button anywhere and none of the text in the patch notes or news section is showing. With the Station Launcher, the Vanguard splash screen comes up after choosing launch, but then it just disappears and Crossover crashes.

I'm on a MBP with a 330m video card using Lion 10.7. I have been using virtual desktop settings as well.

If anyone has gotten the game to run, I'd really appreciate any tips you can give! Thanks!

In my experience the best CXGames version for playing Vanguard is 9.1.0

Vanguard has started crashing a lot for me too, sometimes at the patcher, and sometimes in-game. What's worse, when it crashes in-game, it tends to freeze the whole screen. However, I'm running it right now, so it IS possible to run with the default settings + DirectX (Legacy) in CXGames 10.

Will upgrade from CXGames 10.1.0 to 10.1.1 and see if it makes any difference.

I've ran Vanguard for a while under CrossOver Games 10.1.1 now, and it hasn't crashed yet. I'm running it under Linux, though.
