Vampire the masquerade Bloodlines "has encountered a serious....."

Running crossover 12.2.2 on my MacBook pro running OS 10.6.8.
Opened steam. Installed VtMB from Steam.
Game starts, activision logo, then window VtMB "has encountered a serious issue and needs to" ect ect ect
Uninstall.

Install VtMB.tie (via web link), then auto-starts downloading VtMB from Steam.
Click "Play" from steam, same result.

Am I doing something wrong? Am I not Installing the crosstie correctly? That is something I have to do right?
Looks like the forum has no mention of this game running on 12.2.2, maybe a version incompatibility?
Am I missing a step? This stuff is kinda new to me. (But i got torchlight 2 working!)

I have been trying to pay this game forever.

ANY help would be most appreciated. I will name my first born child after you.

Steam Version: VTMB broke in 12.1.0. The splash screens now load (poorly), but now "The program vampire.exe has encountered..." error. The last version of CrossOver VTMB was working in is 12.0.0.

hey thanks for the info. i was hoping someone would confirm this very suspicion.
Any ideas on how i can get this game running on the macbookpro, hopefully painlessly?
thanks again

In order to get the Steam Version of VTMB to work with CrossOver Versions 12.1.0-12.2.2, the "Enable experimental Mac Driver" must be checked in your game Bottle's Advanced settings.

After the game exits, your mouse will be stuck. Press Command+Tab once to release it.

Happy Hunting!

;)

For whatever reason, I guess png's don't show up in the forums. If you click on the image, you will see the CrossOver setting you need to check.

png not showing up even when clicking on image. Try using a image host. I suggest blogger which uses picassa web albums. Seems to work fine for me.
