First Attempt

Well, without knowing anything at all about what I was doing I managed to get a bit of the way there. First of all, there is no seperate installer for UnrealEd 3.0. When you install the Unreal Tournament 2004 in windows the editor is installed automatically in your UT2004 /system folder.

i've been trying to get this to run in a usable way but the view ports are based on D3D8 renderer, which doesn't seem to work for me. UNrealED loads ok but you can't use it if you can see the viewports. I tried to change the renderer in the ini files to the OpenGL renderer but all i got was an error message that OpenGL is not available in the editor and that i had to change back to a D3D Renderer. i hope eventually there will be a Linux editor for UT2KX... i'd like to get as far away from winblows as i can.

if anyone else out there has it working, please share your findings.

my specs

P4 2.4 Ghz
Nvidia Geforce 6600LE
OpenSuse 10.2
1GB ram
DVD-/+RW DL
