Latest UO - High Seas - classic client works, enhanced not (on Mac OSX 10.8)

maybe I missed the previous discussions, but I can't find anywhere stating that the enhanced version does not work?
I can get the classic 2D version to work with "standard" install.
For the enhanced version, I can get the patcher to work, but the program crashes when pressing play.
I tried to install DirectX into the bottle, but then the patcher doesn't work anymore. (Edit - it did after a restart, but still won't start client afterwards)

My system is MacOS 10.8.2 (Airbook), official UO installer from UO homepage, and latest crossover version.

Any experiences with the enhanced client?
