The cd-Version is star-force protected, so no luck there.
But I am currently downloading the steam-version...

Steam version works..
HOWEVER... no Mouse-Pointer is available.
So currently the game is unplayable.
Have anyone tried this on steam lately with the newest XOverGames?
Hi,
Just so you know, there's some more info on getting this title to run in wine
over at the WineHQ AppDB....see;
http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=7673&iTestingId=14191
The current COG is based on wine-1.1.25, so the results on that page pertaining
to wine-1.1.28 may be pertinent here.
You may also be interested to know, UFO:Afterlight is also available as a digital
download from direct2drive....see;
http://www.direct2drive.com/4557/product/Buy-UFO:-Afterlight-Download
I have a few direct2drive games ; one way or another I've been able to get the various
online registration/activation processes to work ; and the games themselves that do run
under COG (..ie; the same title on cd/dvd media also runs under crossover/wine), run
well and of course have no 'CD check' DRM routine to negotiate -- this is no guarantee
the direct2drive version of UFO:Afterlight will actually work, I'm just letting you
know of another avenue ;)
Somewhat related, the UFO:Aftermath & UFO:Aftershock installments of this title are
also available as a digital download, with no DRM etc from GOG.com....see;
http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/ufo_aftershock
http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/ufo_aftermath
With GOG releases, there is no DRM at all -- if the game software itself will run with
crossover/wine, GOG releases usually work 'out of the box'...
Cheers!
I still can't resolve the mouse cursor issue. Neither in windowed or fullscreen mode (Mac).
