So I installed this game and can't get it to work. I was wondering what you did to get it to work, or nothing at all.

I can't get this game to work either. Steam will start the launcher, but after the launcher it doesn't do anything.
I'll have a look at it if you want

I actually just got it to work. All I had to do is install Windows Media Player 10 in the Steam bottle. It appeared to do the MP10 install as part of the Trine install, but it didn't work until I manually did the install.
WMP10 can be downloaded from here:
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/download/AllDownloads.aspx
Also, this game doesn't run well at any settings level on the nVidia 9400M integrated video, but runs great on the 9600M.
Ok so i downloaded the demo and found out that two .dlls are needed
WMVcore.dll
wmasf.dll
P.S. For me the videos did not work so if you are faced with a black screen just hit escape of spacebar. Also i seem to have a few font glitches

Ahh that must have been why none of the videos worked for me :)

Yes, I have some font glitches in the menus, but it doesn't affect playability at all, and it's still readable. It's similar to the font issues I have in HL2 with the captioning.
Hi,
Just FYI sort of thing -- some font glitches in menus can be sometimes
be fixed by installing one or another of the microsoft visual c++ runtime
packages (the exact version is game dependent).
Cheers!
just wondering what version is that o WMP that you need to run the game...
you said "WMP18" but there is no such thing as Windows Media Player version 18, if i am correct...
also, most of the versions of the program are only downloadable for Windows users, wich is obviously not my case, so what's the solution to that?
i'm gonna try out with the free-of-charge mac versions of the player and see if that works.

Ah! just realized something...
you wrote "wmp10, not wmp18", very close to each other. still, somewhy i'm seeing 18 on both, but the first one is a little lighter than the second one, so i copied+pasted somewhere else and BING... finally read wmp10. yes, i do have my glasses on, so im guessing i got some kind of font bug or something.
Anyways, thank you very much on replying. Gonna try to get it to work later on. =)
