Working for us

Tried this application with Crossover even though it said it was not known to work. Installed and started up fine. We're new to the app (lifelong Mac users who have never, ever used a PC) so we don't know if the functionality is 100% complete, but it works well enough that we could use a Driver scenario and start tooling around on a train. Throttle, braking, and other keyboard commands work fine, as do various onscreen buttons and functions.

Yes, for me it works too, but on basic CrossOver, not on CrossOver Games. I run it on MacBook 4,1 - 2.4Ghz processor, 2GB RAM, 160GB HD. Usually it works fine and the graphic is nice, but sometimes I get "fatal error" message after which the game falls down completely. Some larger maps (20 MB+) were not possible to run at all. The Download Helper and internet connection within the game fall down quite often. Another disadvantage is that it is not possible to remap key commands, so some of them are unavailable from MacBook keyboard (sure, external USB/wireless keyboard with all the keys could be fine). I hope that future versions of CrossOver could make it better ;) Anyway, does anybody know if TRS2009 is working...?

Hi,

I actually have a ticket open regarding the Trainz titles. The major issue
(in the current crossover-games) is the lack of text in menus - the simulation
itself runs fine...see;

http://www.codeweavers.com/support/tickets/browse/?ticket_id=761496;layout=user_tickets;sort[status]=ASC

I should have the ticket recorded in time, so it fixes may make it into the upcoming COG-9.0 release.

Regarding Trainz 2009, going by the WineAppDB entry, it seems to suffer a similar problem;

http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=15089&iTestingId=35538

Regarding issues running these titles in Crossover (not crossover-games), that's probably to
be expected -- the Crossover wine engine isn't as optimized for games like the Crossover-Games
wine engine...

Hopefully, the various Trainz releases will work better in COG-9.0...

Cheers!
