Network Browsing not working

Hello,
I cannot get the Network Browsing to work on Knoppix 7.0.5
Even after installing the libnss-mdns. Any idea ?
Thanks,
Gilles

Same problem here ☹️

I installed the nss packages, but the network tab remains completely empty.
Maybe there are firewall settings that may cause problems?

Hello,
Same here: I have the nss-mdns package installed but the network still does not work.
Cheers,
Gilles

Hello Guys,

Has anyone found a solution to this problem?

Thank you!

This is usually a tricky issue, and there are many possible causes.

One thing you can try is to edit /etc/hosts to make sure that the IP address for your hostname (not "localhost") points to your external IP instead of 127.0.0.1

Oh wait, I looked at the title of the app and thought it was a game...

I guess in this case when you say "network browsing" you don't want to find game servers, you want to look at remote shares, e.g. \SomeHost\SomeShare\File1 . This is not implemented in Wine / CrossOver, so it won't work ☹️ .
