I got nowhere with CrossOver 9.0 and TnT 2.1.16, so regressed to CrossOver 7.0.2 and TnT 2.0.30. I have an intel-based Mac running Snow Leopard.
The only problem I've had so far is that I cannot automatically mail merge into Word/ Open Office Writer, but I can manually export the data and mail merge from there. (On the other hand, automatically exporting data to Excel/ Open Office Calc is no problem at all.)
So far so good!
I just purchased Crossover 9.0. How do I downgrade to Crossover 7.0.2. And where did you find TntMPD 2.0.30? I can't find that version to download anywhere.

Amend with some mistakes
Crossover 8 can run TntMPD till version 2.1.6. <<---- This is confirm working.
Some installation problem with MDAC 2.8 and TNTMPD
