Crossover 22 - MacOS - cannot quit

I recently upgraded to Crossover 22. Before I had no problems at all using a MacBook Pro (M1 Pro) and using TheWORD V6.
After I started using Crossover 22 though (same computer, same software version) I cannot quit the program anymore.
I always have to 'Force Quit', without that I cannot even quit Crossover. Any suggestions?
I have restarted many times, deleted the program and reinstalled but the problem persists.
(using the newest beta of TheWORD)
