the audio echoes badly, the fps is also bad. not playable. any advice? never been able to run this game before and would like to be able to play it. newest crossover version

Forgot to note that i'm running the game through STEAM. I will try a direct copy through GoG though.
GOG version of the game will not even launch, update. This game is not playable on crossover at all.

I had success launching the GOG version with cx21 and 22 beta.
But on Mac M1, the audio glitch is there. I set dialogs and sounds to lowest setting. Music plays normally. So I would rate it 3 stars.
I had not such a problem on a Intel Macbook pro 2013. Would rate it perfect, but my test machine is underpowered to actually play the game so I refrain.
