Steam

I'm using it on the trial version, but on steam I click on it and nothing happens. Uh, Help? ^^;

Maybe it is the trial version that is the problem?

I have just switched to Ubuntu From W*****s, I downloaded Steam via CrossOver Games - no problems encountered there. Then I purchased the Base Game through Steam, and the game started at the first time of asking. As I only had to push a couple of buttons, the process was as idiot proof as it could be. Have you tried buying the game through Steam? The game plays really well - there are a (very) few artifacts and a little lag in places, but I am very pleased with the result.

As a side-note "The Sims 3" is the second game I have installed with CrossOver Games - the first was LOTRO, which also installed without any problems and plays as well as it did on that "other" system.

I'm having trouble running the Steam version of the Sims 3. Unlike you I don't only own the base game, I also own all the expansion and stuff packs.

Have you been able to get the whole big mess to run?
