Skyrim special Edition. No voice audio since Crossover 22.1.1

Macbook Pro M2
On Crossover 21 there was no issues. since update to Crossover 22.1.1, there is no Dovahkiin song on the main menu and all character's voices are missing completely. All other audio is fine.
Tried running in Windows 7 bottle as recommenced by Crossover and in Windows 10 - same issue.
Does anyone experience similar issues? Any ideas how to fix it are welcome.

I'm having the exact same issue. Video runs great, but there is no song, no dialog audio, only background/environmental sounds. This is on a clean install of CrossOver, a new Steam bottle (Win 10 64), and new Steam/Skyrim SE install. I have double-checked that "Skyrim - Voices_en0.bsa" is installed, so all the dialog files are there. But CrossOver simply won't play the audio. My Mac is an M2 as well.

Hi folks,

The audio works if you install by searching for "The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition." That will enable additional settings to get audio working.

Best,
Meredith

This worked for me; thanks so much!

Greetings,
I found a workaround to missing sounds as I copied an existing install with 150 mods OVER the CrossTied Skyrim SE Install (forgot about Sound issue..BUT which works BTW) and didn't want to Reinstall everything..again.
I searched and found a Linux thread about a similar issue. Fix below has worked for me for 12 hours and two Mac reboots.

  1. Go to Bottle Action: Install Application into Bottle
  2. Search for "Xact Engine 2010" w/out quote marks..natch
  3. Install into the bottle you need.
  4. Reboot Crossover..not sure if needed but hey...
  5. Game "should" have audio.
  6. YMMV

I don't know if this is what the Skyrim CrossTie incorporate OR if this is an approved solution (Meredith Please delete this post if this is known to cause issues elsewhere in Crossover) BUT it works for me...albeit with the occasional crackling audio here and there...but nothing major. Almost adds to the ambience when you are in a deep dark hole listening to Draugr breathe :)
