I followed the Schotty.com's ESO crossover installation instructions but cannot actually run the windows installer for ESO. My install always hangs up and freezes everything at step 5 of the instructions here. The only way out of the freeze is to manually power down the computer. Did I miss something in the instructions? between steps 4 and 5?
My OS is Zorin 9 which is a modified version of Ubuntu 14.04. My crossover version is 14.1.3. I downloaded the 109.6 MB (109,567,016 bytes) ESO installer file from my ESO / Zenimax account and use it as my installer file. My hardware is a Asus ROG laptop upgraded to 18 GB RAM.
The game performs well on Windows 7, but I've since upgraded to 8.1. Still I would rather reserve Windows for work & research applications that are vital yet not available for Linux, like SAS and SPSS. Video, R Studio graphics display and all else works beautifully in Linux.
If it helps I'll post a screen shot with a resources meter running.
