Game launcher doesn't fully load, and freezes system.

I've tried this in PlayOnLinux, Wine and now CrossOver. The version of Linux I am using comes with CrossOver already purchased for every person that uses it, it's called Linux Deepin.

I'm assuming they have bought an exclusive license to include it. I don't know, but it's a full version. It's part of the OS. I am new to Linux in general. I've only recently switched from Mint to Deepin. It worked just fine on Mint, but for some reason on Deepin it doesn't like this game.... I can't even install it.

Let me explain.

I had it update the list, it didn't find the game - so I chose to install a game not included in that list, I downloaded the installer for the game from my account on the main website for the game, and I directed the GUI for CrossOver to that file, to install the game. Right after the logo screen that shows up at first install, the launcher tries to start, but doesn't fully finish showing all of the artwork in the launcher, and entire computer freezes and I can't do anything. So I had to press and hold my power button to turn off my computer, then turn it back on, to do anything.

I don't understand why it does this. Someone at the Deepin OS forums told me that they think it's due to Compix, the Window Manager that Deepin uses. I don't know anything about that, as I'm new to Linux, but that's what I was told. They were not able to help me. They tried though. I tried to see how to File a Ticket to get help from the people at codeweavers, but... it just has Buy buttons everywhere, no option to actually start a ticket. So I decided to come here and post.

I don't know what else to do. It worked pretty well on PlayOnLinux on Mint, but it don't work on anything on Deepin. It's the only Windows application/game that I want to run. I really want this to work. I'd pay for it if I had to, but I wouldn't pay m ore than $100 to have it working. If I had to pay more than that, I'd just wait for the console version and play it on my PlayStation 4...

Please help me. If you can give me a direct link to where I actually fill out the Ticket form to get help, that would be great. But as it stands, I can't find it myself - nothing but buttons for buying CrossOver, when I already have it, as it's included as the full purchased version within Deepin OS.

If it indeed freezes your computer then it's a Deepin issue. Chances are that it's just X that goes b0rk and usually you can recover using ssh. Install the ssh server on Deepin and then use another computer, smartphone or tablet with an ssh client to restart the display manager (lightdm, KDM, GDM or whatever else Deepin happens to use)

I've used Compiz with MATE on Mint and I had no troubles. I'm now using Ubuntu proper which also uses Compiz by default (the Unity desktop is a Compiz plugin).

Giving more info about hardware and drivers (esp. GPU drivers) is always a good idea. You can do so with inxi. Comes in every Debian, Ubuntu and derivative of those operating systems. Use pastebin.com, http://paste.ubuntu.com/ or any similar service and paste the link here.
