I am completely new to Crossover and could use some help. So far I have only attempted one install of a game (LOTRO) and after some initial struggles it is running perfectly. Now I'd like to try to buy Oblivion from Steam and then install the game. But I really am not sure how to do make it work with Crossover.

Can someone give me step-by-step directions?

I'm currently running Oblivion using Steam. I've have tried to get Oblivion GOTY edition to run under Crossover and have never succeeded in having it be stable for extended play or have a high enough enough frame rate to be playable. Oblivion has been great under Steam using Crossover. There are some graphics artifacts, but they don't really impact game play.

To install Oblivion using Steam via Crossover:

1. Choose Configure > Install Software.
2. Select Steam from the list of software and click Proceed.
3. Follow the onscreen instructions to install Steam and login or create your account.
4. I purchased Oblivion: GOTY Edition Deluxe and downloaded.
5. Choose RUN from the library in Steam and that was it.

I checked through the registry and didn't find any modifications.
