The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Forum

So when i first downloaded oblivion, I had a problem with the mouse drifting to the bottom of the screen, but I fixed that by changing the resolution of my iMac to that of oblivion (640x480). After that, oblivion worked perfectly in full screen; that is, it sometimes worked perfectly. When I change the resolution of my iMac to 640x480, click play on oblivion (on the steam library screen), make sure the settings on oblivion are also set to 640x480, and then click play again from the oblivion launcher screen, often nothing will happen. The launcher will disappear (as it should) but the game does not start up, and it is as if I never opened oblivion in the first place. However, when I keep on doing the same thing over and over, it will suddenly work (usually after 5-15 minutes). So could anybody save me those 5-15 minutes and explain why this is happening, and how to fix it?

I run oblivion on linux and I have the same problem. It takes at most 5 tries before oblivion starts. Actually over time this issue appeared less and less, but it still occasionally pops up.
I can't really say what the cause is, it's a minor annoyance compared to all the other stuff that could go wrong.
