The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Forum

Hey all,

Just tried to run this on MacPro Quad 2.8/6GB NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT using Crossover 9.0.

It gets to the main menu then crashes when I press play. I read a previous thread that suggested a graphics card issue and to change a registry. I have little/no experience with registries, so please be gentle :)

Hello, Crossover games 9.0 has a sound problems with Oblivion at the main menu. You have two choices.

First, upgrade to Crossover Games 9.1.

Second, keep Crossover Games 9.0, but follow these steps.

• Locate your oblivion.ini in spotlight (Documents > My Games > Oblivion > Oblivion.ini).
• Open up oblivion.ini in textedit or unicode (or any 3rd party program of your choice)
• In the search bar type in copy paste these entrys and change them as showed.
• "SEARCH"
bForce1XShaders
bSaveOnInteriorExteriorSwitch
bUse Joystick
bMusicEnabled

"REPLACE"
bForce1XShaders=0
bSaveOnInteriorExteriorSwitch=0
bUse Joystick=0
bMusicEnabled=0

I'm having the same problem. I have Crossover Games9.2 on Mac OS X With a 2.53 GHz Inter Core 2 Duo and a 4 GB 1067 MHz DDR3 RAM. I was able to open up Oblivion.ini and found bForce1XShaders=0 and bSaveOnInteriorExteriorSwitch=1 and I changed that to =0 but I couldn't find bUse Joystick or bMusicEnabled

Will the game work without these or should I add them?
