Character is constantly moving forward:

I've just installed Oblivion from DVD (NOT the GoTY version) with cxoffice 12.5.

Hardware:

Intel i3-2100 CPU @ 3.10GHz
8GB DDR-3 RAM
Graphics Card details: NVIDIA GK104 [GeForce GTX 660 Ti] bus-ID: 01:00.0 X.Org: 1.14.2 driver: nvidia Resolution: 1920x1200@60.0hz

OS related:

Manjaro 64bit, rolling release - updated daily
Kernel: 3.10.5-1-MANJARO
nVidia proprietary drivers ver: 325.15

Hopefully I haven't missed anything important above.

Oblivion's initial settings:

HDR: off.
bloom: on

Resolution is set to the native of 1920x1200

The game starts up OK, with no music (I gather that is a normal problem) which is OK by me. The game would crash to desktop whilst I was setting up a new character. It did this a few times. So I looked in the tips & trick section for Oblivion here, & made the suggested modifications to the Oblivion.ini & removed the tick from "Allow the window manager to control windows" under the Graphics tab of WineCfg.

Doing those things allowed me to set up my new character & enter the starting prison cell, where I've struck the problem I can't get around as yet. The character keeps on walking forward. I can steer the character with the mouse but I can't stop or go backwards. I think the A & D keys are working but I could be wrong.

When I look at the in game Controls section I see that on the first panel I'm offered the option to swap around the "Stick" settings. Now from memory this should be talking about the "Mouse" settings.

I've added the following to the Oblivion.ini file, but it has no effect:

bUseJoystick=0

Hopefully someone can point in the right direction on this.

Thanks in advance. :)

I guess you guys that had been there before new that I'd stuffed it up somehow.

I ended up having two lines in the Oblivion.ini that contradicted each other.

When I fixed that, having only one line that says bUseJoystick=0 the problem went away.
