Playing Oblivion in Crossover ...

Sadly, I can't confirm any of this, but Cedega claims to have Oblivion working by using the Oldblivion drivers (details at http://cedegawiki.sweetleafstudios.com/wiki/The_Elder_Scrolls_IV_-_Oblivion). The main issue, apparently, is that current generations of Wine do not (yet) support the advanced video rendering modes required by the stock Oblivion installation; Oldblivion (found at http://www.oldblivion.com/) addresses this by providing software-level emulation of these required features, thus allowing Oblivion to function--albeit at a reduced pace--with older video cards.

Unfortunately, I can't confirm any of this, as I do not personally own the PC edition, but maybe somebody who has it can confirm?

I attempted this and it still did not work, it all installs but it cannot get past the launcher. I can not yet tell exactly what its not liking when I try and start the actual game, perhaps it would work on a machine with a better graphics card, yet I doubt that. It just does not actually start up.

Oblivion does not work in 6.0 from anything I have heard. Our DX9 support was not complete enough for Oblivion support. When 6.1 ships we will test again to see if there has been any improvement.

I've got Oblivion running under oldbivion. I'll post screenshots when I get the chance

Good news. I look forward to the screenshots.

I just got the newest release of crossover for linux downloaded the ubunto installer and put my disc in to install oblivion,I can launch the game and i try to move some steps the screen freezes.I have sound it looks great but i have no idea why it's freezing only when i take some steps forward.Any idea would be appreciated cause it would end up a waste of money on something I can't use to play my favorite game.
