All there is is a Gray Screen once I start playing!!

Ok, I wasn't going to reply at all, but I now see that there are some recent posts. I can get it to run, but when the game actually starts I can't see anything except word boxes as normal and the rest of the world around my character is just gray. I am running Crossover games 8.1.3 and Mac OSX 10.4.1 Does anyone know how I can fix it?

Hi,

Which videocard, and how much videoram do you have?

MacOSX 10.4.1 is getting old now....I don't know if anyone
is still running it here...

Cheers!

I honestly can't seem to figure out what video card I have. I have spent much much more time tinkering with my PC, but after I realized that the games that are slightly laggy on the PC would run much better on my Mac I started a few weeks ago with crossover trying to do what I could.

Scratch that. Figured it out.

NVIDIA GeForce 7300 GT:

Chipset Model: NVIDIA GeForce 7300 GT
Type: Display
Bus: PCIe
Slot: Slot-1
PCIe Lane Width: x16
VRAM (Total): 256 MB
Vendor: NVIDIA (0x10de)
Device ID: 0x0393
Revision ID: 0x00a1
ROM Revision: 3011

I figured since I run WoW on top settings with absolutely no problems I could at least run Morrowind.

You can't compare one game's performance to another - sometimes
you can if they use exactly the same game-engine in exactly the
same way -- the rest of the time such comparisons can be fraught
with disappointment due to coding differences in the games themselves...

I don't have a Mac, so I can't really help you here -- I asked the
question I did, because any Mac user who might be able to help you,
would need to know such information -- hopefully one of these users
will be able to help you...(when they see the posting 😉

Cheers!

ps: you should also mention which release of the game you are using,
ie; CD/DVD/direct2drive/other...

Thanks for helping me. I actually compared it on a list of specs to the minumum requirements and it appears to be almost twice as fast as the one they ask for and supports 3D functionality. I happen to be using an ISO file for it, but somehow I mounted the file to my finder on MAC rather than an ISO program in crossover games itself. It launches just fine and everything so I doubt that's the problem. I've tried it stand alone and I've tried with all the expansions and patches. I've tried it on crossover games 8.1.4 and crossover 7.1.0

The funniest thing is I can get Oblivion to work, but not Morrowind. I have all the settings turned to their lowest just to run oblivion though.

Hi, bringing this post back to where it was, i just installed morrowind and i just get a grey screen with the music going in the background, running cxg mac 9.1.0 ona late 2009 unibody macbook i think it has a 9600M hope you can help

Hi there,

Could you tell us a little bit more about what you're dealing
with there?...ie; which version/media release of the game you
have. You can check exactly which video hardware you have in your
Mac by using Applications/Utilities/System Profiler and clicking
on the Graphics/Displays item -- sometimes knowing for sure exactly
what graphics chip you have really matters 8)

Cheers!
