Morrowind Modding: Tips

Here's how I modded Morrowind with Mod Organizer 2.

  • Install the bottle for Skyrim Special Edition
    • Install Steam in a new folder C:\Games\
  • Install the following software in the bottle:
    • .NET 4.8
    • Visual C++ 2019
    • Mod Organizer 2
  • Go to Wine Configuration in your bottle -> Libraries and add the following overrides:
    • d3d8
    • dinput8

Mod Organizer is a little unstable; it's unable to find some OpenGL libraries and thus some functionalities will crash it. However, it worked enough for me to install my mods and run the game.

I recommend checking out this wiki and starting with this mod list. Textures are harmless.

  1. MCP
  2. MGE XE
  3. Patch for Purists
  4. Morrowind Optimization Patch
  5. Morrowind Enhanced Textures
  6. Project Atlas + Hot Fix + MET Texture
