Setup issues (esp. syntax coloring)

(I didn't know whether this should go in the Forum or in the bug tracker, so here it is.)

Context: Crossover 6.0.1, TextPad 4.7.3

I had no problem getting syntax highlighting to work in TextPad. I encountered three problems in setting it up, though. Here they are, with workarounds:

  1. The color selection popup shows all black blocks, instead of colors. WORKAROUND: Select Custom from the popup, and choose the color (standard or custom) from the dialog.

  2. It's a pain not being able to copy in new or updated syntax files. (At least, I couldn't figure out how to do it.) WORKAROUND: Open the syntax file from elsewhere and Save As to put it in the TextPad/samples directory.

  3. More generically, I couldn't figure out how to load my TextPad settings (registry export) into the bottle's Windows registry. WORKAROUND: Set up preferences piecemeal through Configure->Preferences.

So far (in my many minutes of testing 😉 ) I haven't found any other issues.

The bottle's C: drive is accessible through your normal file system, if you know where to look. On Linux, it's at ~/.cxoffice/<bottle name>/drive_c. On the Mac, it's ~/Library/Application Support/CrossOver/Bottles/<bottle name>/drive_c.

You can run the Registry Editor program to import registry settings. If you use CrossOver's Run Command feature, just select the appropriate bottle and specify "regedit" as the command.
