For me the program runs really well, much better than previous versions, faster and more responsive. However, the installer refused to work for me in this version of CrossOver.

What version of Textpad ? What version of 'Linux' ? I just tried the latest Textpad 5.4.2 on CrossOver 10.0.0 (CentOS 5.5) and the installation completed without any problems.
Good questions! I have now tried both Textpad versions 5.3.1 and 5.4.2 on Crossover 10.0.0 running under LinuxMint 10 x64. For both versions I get the same error:
"Program Error"
"The program txpeng542.exe has encountered a serious problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."
This occurs right at the beginning of the installation before the GUI has even appeared.
I have textpad txpeng542 running on Linux Mint 10 using Wine 1.3 + winetricks and winetricks alpha.
Scroll bars fail, but arrow keys and page up/down function OK.
Also keep the TP window unmaximised, otherwise TP becomes unstable and crashes with errors on exit.
with these caveats, seems fine!
What version of CrossOver are you using and did you use the CrossTie to install Textpad ? I was able to install Linux Mint, CrossOver 10.0.3, and then Textpad (installed via CrossTie) without any stability issues or application errors.
I'll upload a screenshot in a few minutes.
