I'm on a fresh install of Crossover Games on a fresh install of Ubuntu 11.04. I installed Steam and Team Fortress 2. I've tinkered with the settings and have a good frame rate, everything appears to work fine except ALL models of characters are completely invisible. You can still see explosions, gunfire, blood, healing ray, etc., but the characters and other models don't appear. I've tried running a range of different directx versions, running it in windowed mode, and lowering all video settings to the minimum, but the error persists. Any ideas? I'm a bit stumped.

I should mention also that the same issue happened just running Steam/TF2 through straight wine, and that I reinstalled everything in Crossover in the hopes that it would resolve the issue.

I'll wager that is your problem, the Ati mobility graphics chipset (or more
correctly, the video drivers) ... I am unsure of any fix. The only thing I
can suggest is to install the latest Ati linux drivers, and see if that helps.

I switched from the open-source ATI driver to the fglrx one and it works perfectly. Thanks a lot, it looks like that was all I needed!
