Hey guys, I just want to know what your average game performance on a mac is, please state your comp specs aswell. I am currently running Tf2 on my Macbook pro core 2 2.2ghz 2GB, 128mb and it's really lagging at a maximum rate of 40fps??? I'm using the dx 8.1 settings. thanks

Yeah, I'm on MB Pro with core 2 duo 2.4 GHz and 2GB, GeForce 8600M GT 256 MB, Santa Rosa. I get pretty crap fps. I tried both dx 8.1 and dx 8 settings. not much help. even tried putting all advanced video settings to minimum and then it just froze after walking around a bit. I'll try again and post.

(running 800 x 600 and low everything, bilinear, none where applicable) no other apps running other than adium.

I think I get down to 11fps in-game in the heat of action. and 100+ sometimes randomly when I am ghosting.

Is it possible to play well on mbpro????

Is it normal that Video Driver Outdated dialog warns me?

The new MacBook Pro has a new graphics chipset and video driver. It has been causing us serious problems. We strongly suspect that it's just plain buggy, since we can't figure out anything that CrossOver is doing that would cause the problems. It works better under Leopard, which has different drivers. At this time, we don't know of any way to make it work well under Tiger. 😥

Oh, and the warning about the video driver is "normal" and should be ignored. Steam contains a list of Windows video drivers that it considers "good". The video drivers of Mac and Linux are, of course, not on that list, and so Steam always gives that warning.
