I can't see Text or I see Scrambled Text on the Splash Screen - what should I do?

This problem usually happens when you just install your operating system and haven't installed the operating system updates including DirectX 9.0c

It can also happen if you haven't installed the latest Motherboard and Video Drivers for your system.

Please contact Microsoft to update your operating system:
Microsoft Update for all Operating Systems

and contact your motherboard and graphics card manufacturer for the latest drivers and for installation instructions."

That's from Steam support. Is there no way to install drivers into Crossover?

I believe that this is a bug in TF2 itself, and the update-your-driver answers has to be read as "we don't care, go find your own solution". Unfortunately I wasn't able to locate the bug, so I could be wrong, but there seems to be an uninitialized variable inside TF2, and then the alpha channel in the font texture isn't set properly. Are you using Crossover 6.2? I have put a workaround into 6.2 to fix up the alpha channel.
