Macbook 2,2GHz, leopard - graphics error

All textures seem to only display in greyish colors. I have tried different video settings witout any luck. Any ideas?

Hello,

Try in Steam at the tab: Games, right click on Team Fortress 2.
Go to Properties.

Then Set Launch Options.
Type in: -dxlevel 8.1
Or try: -fullscreen

😏

Thanks, but...

"Engine error"
"This game has a minimum requirement of DirectX 8.0 to run properly."

I tried:
-dxlevel 8.1
-novid -dxlevel 8.1
-fullscreen
-fullscreen -dxlevel 8.1
-fullscreen -novid -dxlevel 8.1
All resulted in the same error.

Im on the new macbook, with Intel's X3100 integrated graphics. Any other ideas?

edit: fixed the "engine error" by setting "-dxlevel 81" instead of "-dxlevel 8.1", but the texture error is still there. I got the same error with -dxlevel 80 and 90. When i tried to run fullscreen, the loading window came up correctly, but the game window came up partly outside the screen.

edit 2: I tried to run the game fullscreen with native resolution, It now fits perfectly, but the texture bug is still there. As X3100 supports dx10 i even tried with -dxlevel 100. Will try to reinstall steam and tf2 in another bottle.

I reinstalled steam and team fortress 2 in a new bottle. This time i also tried counterstrike source. They both came up with the same graphics bug. CSS i was able to fix with -dxlevel 70. The CSS tips & tricks says: "regular MacBook users must use this this setting as the Intel video chipset does not support shaders". CSS runs well enough with full resolution.

With TF2 it is not possible to set -dxlevel 70, or i'll get a message that directx 8.0 or higher is needed. Anybody?
