Hi,

i downloaded the CrossOver trial for MAC to test it with Team Fortress 2.
When i get it working i will buy it, cause i hate to boot in Windows.

I am running it on a iMac 24" 3.06Ghz with 4GB Ram.

Everything is working fine, no graphic glitches etc. i get more then 100FPS.

BUT the Framerat drops continuous to 10-20 FPS and directly jumps back to full speed.
This happens everywhere, with and without enemys, even at spawn.

I allready tried:

• cap the FPS to 60FPS,
• Resolution of 800*600
• Everything on low

Sadly it´s unplayable with this problem.

I solved the problem by my own.

My external FW800 HDD caused this issue. After i disconnected it, the game runs smooth.

You should mention this in your Tips section!

That's really weird. I have an external USB hard drive and have noticed nothing of the sort that you've mentioned. If I had to guess I would say that while the drive is connected spotlight is consuming a lot of processor time with indexing it, and that is causing the FPS drops. Mind you that's just a guess. Try connecting your external hard drive and checking the spotlight status by clicking on the magnifying glass in the top right corner of the screen. If it says indexing, that may very well be your problem...

It might also have to do with the "Put hard disk(s) to sleep when possible" option in the Energy Saver pane of System Preferences. Maybe the drive is spinning down every so often and then something needs it and has to wait for it to spin back up.
