Freezing after load screen in v7.0

I have tried running both CS:S and TF2 on my latest revision MBP using Crossover Games v7.0 in full screen, native resolution (1440x900). With both, after the games have loaded, I see the first menu screen (where you click continue), but I can't click anywhere on the screen and nothing responds, no sound, nothing. I have tried adding -dxlevel 80 to the launch options in CS:S and this did nothing either.

Any help would be appreciated, is anyone else getting this?

I will try running in windowed mode and post back.

Try to set your Steam interface language to English

I'm pretty sure it was already on English, but I changed it to another language, restarted then back to English with a restart just to make sure. It didn't fix anything. Has anyone else had any issues like this?

Another thing is that I can't run in window mode at all anymore, I don't know what's up with that, but it worked fine in v6.2.1.

Remove the "-dxlevel 80". Having this in your command line makes the game reset the settings each start. After you started the game with dxlevel 80 once, it will stick to this dxlevel until you pass a different dxlevel again.

Oh right, so is there anything else I can do? I've taken the dxlevel 80 out.

None of this has worked so far.

I thought I'd post my solution to this problem.

It had to do with incompatibilities of the 'Word of the Day' screen on the server. Every time I connected, it was to the same servers hosted by my ISP. To fix this, I installed Internet Explorer 6 and it now works smootly.

Ahhhh, thanks for that; installing IE6 worked for me, too.

Please note that once installing IE 6, none of the html in the Steam store, community or update windows will load. Even though the game runs, I hope that something can be done in the future to fix this problem, as it gets annoying if you've had an invite you can't accept etc.

The servers I had trouble loading with were ones called "Internode" located in Australia or any one with an HTML welcome screen instead of the chalkboard text. Just so you know for testing.

Hi,
I think we've found at least one bug that caused MOTD crashes, this will be fixed in the next release. We don't know yet if it fixes all of them - It would be just too nice for a one liner patch :-/
