Tally ERP9 "Out of Memory"

Hi I have installed Tally ERP 9 software on Ubuntu 14.04 and Ubuntu 12.04 via Crossover. The installation goes through nicely and I am able to launch Tally by checking the box Launch application after clicking finish. But once i exit that and double (or manually go to the path) and try to start Tally. It shows me error " Out of Memory". Tried multiple things suggested on internet but without luck. I used the debug option , below is the debug log. Kindly Help if anyone has been able to get this working. I have removed the duplicates in log, just kept what was required. Thanks.

Hi,

We have been able to run Tally ERP 9 in Wine on Ubuntu 12.04. No errors in application working except for Printing. Tally ERP 9 is not able to see the printer local as well as network installed on Ubuntu machine. But other applications like MS Office and Notepad inside Wine are able to see the printer. Can anyone help in printing in WINE/Crossover. Though so far Tally ERP 9 has not worked on Crossover.

Tally ERP 9 Supports only Windows.

What steps did you take to get it to run with Wine? You may need to do the equivalent to get it running in CrossOver.

Yes it is for Windows and is expected to release a Linux version in near future. Hopefully they do but at present I am ableto run it in Linux under Wine. So far crossover has not been able to do it..

Steps as such have been simple, just install wine1.6 and then install the application Tally. It almost works outof the box nothing extra to do. Which is why I am surprised that its not working with Crossover.

I installed tally Erp9 sucessfully on linux and mac. Mr Sandeep says on mac tally doenot shows printers.
It is basically the problem of tally erp9. Tally ERp9 supports only these application tally understand. For example
in windows we are istalling open office .org. Tally not support open office .org.
only way to to is export in pdf.

Printing also works with Tally on Linux, However there is lots of things which needs to be done on Linux OS level also. Further it is very different because wine treats those printers separately.

this video explains how it is done

Further, Tally does not use normal standard windows Library, so it makes things more complicated.

Good news, Tally runs faster on Linux as compared to Windows. Keep watching, I will post the video of the same.

Yogendra ji,

we have successfully implemented this in many places, even Multiuser, with licensing is running properly - with printing also
