Works, with some minor issues

This is one of the few games I've tried that recognizes the disc in the drive, so you don't technically have to circumvent the copy protection in order to play it with Crossover. However, if you want to do so anyway, know that I was unable to get the existing patches to work, either in Crossover or Parallels, so you might have to run the from within an actual Windows install.

That being said, there are still a couple of issues that keep it from being a perfect experience. Fist, gameplay is a bit jerky, which is odd for a game this old. Nevertheless, it's still playable. Second, once you start a game, when you hit esc to view the main menu (to quit or change settings) it presents a black screen, so you will have to navigate the menu blind. It does make it hard to quit the game without just shutting down Crossover, though.

The problem with the performance is that the game tries to write directly to the framebuffer to draw the HUD. This is horribly expensive to emulate on OSX and Linux.
