Swordsearcher 6

I found Gary Maxwell's thread was very helpful; however, a few more details are needed. Create the bottle through Crossover, Manage bottles. Then the next step you do should be done through codeweavers Cross tie and be sure to read the installation notes (i.e. uncheck the "updates" box and don't restart the computer--restart it later. Follow this same procedure for the next step. If you have a full version disk, which I did, insert the disk, but still go back to Cross tie and let it install through the disk. This is the only way I could get the program to function properly. After I installed everything and the program was working, then I was able to go to the help section on the swordsearcher program, go to check updates, and get the 6.1.2.4 update--it downloaded immediately (I didn't have to go back through cross tie).

NOTE: If you download the swordsearcher from codeweavers it is only an evaluation version so it doesn't have all the books, bibles, etc. You would still need to get a full version download/disk from swordsearcher.

The program is a fabulous Bible program and now works great on my Mac! Hope this helps!

The clearer steps to the installation is by

  1. Go to this URL:
    http://www.codeweavers.com/compatibility/browse/name/?app_id=7588

  2. Click "Install through Crosstie" (an orange color icon on the right column). Do this even if you have the CD (you can key in the license serial number when prompted later).

  3. Click all the default prompts except for the RESTART.

  4. DO NOT restart (it is for other Microsoft software which doesn't bother us).

  5. After all other underlying software have been installed, it will start installing SwordSearcher 6.

  6. Key in the license serial number when prompted.

  7. It will proceed to install (taking quite a while to do so).

  8. It will launch Swordsearcher when it has completed the installation.

  9. Quit the Swordsearcher so that the Crossover Installer can complete its job.

  10. Click "Done" for the Crossover Installer.

  11. Now you can try launching the Swordsearcher and do the necessary layout arrangement and other configuration.

  12. Enjoy!
