StyleWriter 3.93 Forum

I am fairly new to Linux (Ubuntu 10.04) and Crossover. I was able to install MS Office XP and StyleWriter 4.0 without a problem. MS Word works fine and StyleWriter solo/outside MS Word windows (Tutorials, help, etc.) open perfectly. The problem is that I can't get MS Word to include this Add-in. When I browse for StyleWriter on my computer, I am unable to locate it (hidden?).

... I am so close to getting StyleWriter to work on Linux, I just need to know how to plug the add-in (StyleWriter) into MS Word running on Linix via Crossover.

Any help would be most appreciated. I really hate using my Windows machine just so I can access StyleWriter (Which I use daily).

Okay, I discovered the StyleWriter add-in was in the wrong bottle (not with my MS Word). I moved it to the correct bottle and it now shows up as an add-in in MS Word. The problem now is that when I try to load it I get a "run-time error 424 - Object required". I know nothing about programing, but when I open the StyleWriter .doc file in visual basic editor it does open in word. I just don't how to fix the micro to run correctly. I am VERY close to getting StyleWriter to work on Linux (through crossover).

Just looking over on M$ support, I found this;

Perhaps this relates to one of the MDAC runtime support
packages being required? There's install targets for these
in the 'Runtime Support Components' area of the cxinstaller
GUI -- you might try installing one (or more) of those packages
into the same bottle?
