Hello,
When I try to install steam, CrossOver will bring up the install menu and begin install but then will fail to create the steam bottle. Here is the failure, "cxbottle:error: unable to create the 'Steam' bottle in '/Users/(user)/Library/Application Support/CrossOver/Bottles/Steam". this also happens when I try to install a few other applications. Does anyone know what the problem is?

There are a few potential problems. Typically, bottle creation failures are due to anti-virus or network issues. Please confirm you are not running anti-virus software or CleanMyMac X. Also please confirm you aren't running Private Relay. If all of those check out, please see if connecting to a different network works for you: certain router settings can cause problems for CrossOver.
