Steam Version of The Witcher?

Does anyone have the Steam version of The Witcher running correctly? I've been helping another user in The Witcher forum. The thread is here:

I have tested The Witcher inside of my normal Steam bottle and it doesn't seem to be a problem for me but the OP is still having problems so I'm thinking its something to do with the Steam version which is odd as I usually have MUCH better luck with Steam versions than CD/DVD versions.

If anyone has gotten it working and can assist, please post in either thread. Thx!
