I am currently attempting to run Civilizations 3 Complete which I bought through Steam.
It is hard to explain, so I will just show you through a screen shot.
I can click on the Steam app which should be hidden since Civ is supposed to be in full screen.
This is a specific problem with CrossOver Games. In regular WINE, this does not happen, as it goes to the normal full screen mode.

This forum is for Steam, (not steamapps ;) -- perhaps someone in the above
forum can answer you (seeing as they have the game) -- also be sure to
mention your platform/OS{version}/video card/chipset (and if linux, which
video card drivers)..
